Millennials are rising into the arenas of power. The experiences, values and operating models of these new generations are different from what we are used to. Millennials will, of course, also change the political environment and the lobbying that takes place within it. This change challenges us to consider the necessary changes in lobbying practices.
Blic has helped one of Finland’s largest energy companies, Pohjolan Voima, to meet the opportunities and challenges brought by the new political operating environment. Together, Blic and Pohjolan Voima have built an analysis of the changes brought to Finnish politics by millennial decision-makers and updated lobbying operating models to reflect the new era. At the heart of the project has been challenging traditional thinking and breaking familiar compartments. Without an understanding of the future, influencing can become insignificant.
